Course Description:
This course will cover the philosophy of intellectual property rights, various technical and legal dimensions of IPR, and implications of IPR for growth and development of science and technology, along with the various socioeconomic
and ethico-legal consequences of IPR on economic development. This course also covers all kinds of Intellectual Property Rights and focuses on India’s new IP Policy and Government schemes for IPR.

Course Objectives:
1. To introduce fundamental aspects of Intellectual Property Rights to students who are going to play a major
role in development and management of innovative projects in industry .
2. To disseminate knowledge on patents, patent regime in India and abroad and registration
3. To disseminate knowledge on copyrights and its related rights and registration aspects to disseminate
knowledge on trademarks and registration aspects
4. To disseminate knowledge on Design, Geographical Indication (GI), Plant Variety and Layout Design
Protection and their registration aspects
5. To create awareness about current trends in IPR and Govt. steps in fostering IPR
